About us
Jack and Jills is a  Preschool dedicated to supporting you and your child in your child's first step into education.  We are open Monday to Friday 9.15-12.15 and Monday to Friday afternoon 12.15 to 3pm.  sessions are £17 and days are £34.  You can do half days or full days; we accept 2 year offer and 15 or 30 hour funding for 3 years plus. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for your children, where they feel safe and confident to learn and grow as a whole.  We teach children to be mindful and resilient.  Children (and staff) also learn to balance their emotions and be happy and healthy through breathing, mediation and yoga; including Wellness Wednesday.  To learn more about what we offer please contact us and come for a visit.

Learning

We offer open-flow play, with daily access to the garden in all weathers (please provide wet suits and welly boots).  Children can self-select activities and learn through play.  We follow 'In The Moment Planning', where children self select what to do and play with and staff work hard to play with your children and support their learning further in everything they do.   Everything is based around the children's interest, so engagement is kept to the maximum.  We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage - meaning we follow the same curriculum as  Primary Schools.  We are constantly observing and assessing, ready to notice that teachable moment, where we ca step in and guide your child's learning further and develop those thinking skills.  We maintain close, family friendly relationships with our parents, who can drop us a bell at any time.

Meet our staff

We have a wonderful and a highly qualified team - 2 of which are fully qualified Primary School/Early Years Teachers.  All staff are DBS checked and we are working towards all having Paediatric First Aid Training and Food Hygiene qualifications.  We aim to give children the skills to be strong and resilient.  We also teach yoga, breathing and meditation.  We have a SENCO and Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator working with the children daily.  Our staff are absolutely lovely, and always ready for a big hug.

Covid secure

All parents and carers dropping and collecting must wear a face mask.  Staff will greet and send children out while wearing a mask.  If a visitor is on site all staff will again wear a face mask.  Some staff choose to wear a face mask throughout the session;, which is their personal preference.  Toys and regular touch areas are cleaned daily, including outside.  Staff and children wash hands on arrival and at regular intervals during the day.  The children do not use hand sanitiser on their delicate hands and it is not kept it children's reach.  We have a robust cleaning schedule.  If a child or staff come into contact with a positive case for corona virus they must isolate for 14 days, and those with symptoms for 10 days.  If your child has a symptom, they must isolate or have a test and send the results to the manager before returning to preschool.  Siblings isolating from school due to a positive case in their class or year group can not come to drop off or collection.  We expect parents and carers to keep their distance from one-another while outside outside.  All staff and families that attend Jack and Jill's are expected to follow Government Guidance to keep safe during this time.  The children's safety at the time is absolutely paramount.
